Process - Checking for Blocked Email Addresses/Domains
Checking if an email has been blocked.
If the email address has been blocked please escalate to Cyber Security so that we can assess the risk of unblocking the email address.
We can use the Cyber Security Block List Spreadsheet to locate information if an email address or URL are being blocked with the respective ticket number. It is located currently in the Cyber Security Sharepoint - Block Lists (Defender & Exchange).xlsx
To manually check for blocked email addresses; please follow the instructions below.
1. Go to admin.exchange.microsoft.com
2. Go to Mail Flow -> Rules
3. Click either from the following Rules:
a. BLOCK Domain List
b. BLOCK Domain List – 2
c. BLOCK individual email address list

4. Click on “Edit rule conditions”

5. Click on the Pencil
icon

6. It will then show you either the Domains or individual email addresses that have been blocked. You will need to scroll and manually search for the email address.
