Process: Restarting DC / SERV Servers
On occasion, there may come a time where we need to restart a DC or SERV Server for a security incident. Example: Unreachable DC for Missing DC Heartbeat Alert.
Process
1. Go to Azure -> Virtual Machines -> Jumpbox-prd01
2. Using Bastion, remote onto Jumpbox-prd01 with your admin credentials https://portal.azure.com/#@mariecurieazure.onmicrosoft.com/resource/subscriptions/df36146a-4192-40db-9b12-c4084283847b/resourceGroups/RG-IT-PRD/providers/Microsoft.Compute/virtualMachines/jumpbox-prd01/bastionHost
3. On Jumpbox-prd01, Click the Start Menu and type Hyper
4. Open Hyper-V Manager
5. Click on “Connect to Server” on the Right side
6. Enter the HYPERV device name for DC that needs to be restarted. Example: If DC is SWI-DC-01; replace DC with HYPERV. = SWI-HYPERV-01
7. Click on the HYPERV on the Left.
8. Right Click on the DC (ie. SWI-DC-01) and click on “Reset”
